✪ Lopez Lomong went from running to escape the soldiers who abducted him, to running to represent America in the Olympics… What would you do if your childhood of being loved by your parents and playing with your friends was ripped from you by soldiers who kidnapped you and ordered you to kill enemies with a gun… at 6 years old?

After escaping the army that abducted him and ending up in a Kenyan refugee camp for a decade, one day of discovering runners in the Olympics was all it took for him to dream of one day doing the same. In a life where he went from running for his life to running to represent his country, seeing the worst human cruelties to life’s biggest blessings, and enduring years of hopelessness to experiencing the most fulfilling accomplishments, Lomong’s story proves what we can achieve if we make the most of the opportunities life gives us.
