Domestic animals, especially dogs, hold a special significance in Canada and are even considered part of the family. This is in stark contrast to Iran, where keeping dogs is not legal, leading to numerous challenges for those interested in these animals. According to law number 688 in Iran, keeping dogs is prohibited, which means dogs in Iran lack mental, emotional, and even physical security as the law does not support them.

Farzaneh Farzin, who previously had a fear of any specific animal, especially dogs, developed an interest in dogs with the support of her husband and chose dog training as her profession. Despite the challenges in Iran, she dedicated herself to training, and treating behavioral disorders in dogs, and eventually migrated to Canada to expand her work, benefiting from the supportive animal protection laws.

In a conversation with our volunteer host Mohammad Ahmadi, she shares that she has learned extensively in Canada about how to properly interact with dogs based on principles. She explains the differences in laws related to domestic animals between Iran and Canada and provides numerous examples from her experience of dealing with dogs. Farzaneh takes care of many dogs in her home; some owners have gone on trips, and she has to spend several weeks with them. She discusses the differences in dog breeds and criticizes the mistakes some people make by treating dogs as their children. Farzaneh emphasizes that love for dogs is a unique love and should not replace the love for children. She also discusses her behavioral skills in dealing with dogs and highlights the rights that dogs have in Canada, emphasizing that everyone should be aware of these rights.
