Barrett-Jackson

BarrettJackson fired up the crowd on Friday as the first charity car of the 2022 Houston Auction had its turn in the spotlight: A 2010 Chevrolet Camaro SS Callaway/Hendrick Edition with 100 percent of its $250,000 hammer price benefiting Operation Homefront. The special Camaro was donated to the cause by longtime customer of BarrettJackson, Michelle Mauzy, and her family. Joining BarrettJackson Chairman and CEO Craig Jackson on the block to introduce the vehicle was Brigadier General (Ret.) John Pray, president and CEO of Operation Homefront, which helps military families with housing, financial education and more. The winning bidder of this incredible car was Joe Riley, a familiar face at BarrettJackson known for purchasing countless other charity vehicles. Included with the sale were four tickets to any 2023 NASCAR race of his choosing and a tour of Rick Hendrick’s Heritage Center.

Impressive muscle cars to gorgeous RestoMods and unique vehicles made their way across the famous auction block at NRG Center. One of the most anticipated vehicles to cross the block on Friday was the 2022 GMC Hummer EV Edition 1 VIN 005 (Lot 442.1) which sold for $225,500. The sale was followed by Lot 443, a 1967 Ford Mustang Eleanor Tribute Edition that crossed the block for $220,000.

Pickup trucks were among the highlights of the day’s auction, led by Lot 450, a 1990 Chevrolet 3500 custom pickup for $110,000; Lot 368, a 1968 Chevrolet C10 custom pickup for $99,000; Lot 438.1, a 1940 Ford custom pickup for $89,100; Lot 418, a 1955 Ford F100 pickup for $88,000; and Lot 439, a 1969 Chevrolet C10 custom pickup that crossed the block for $85,800.

Other notable sales included Lot 458, a 1966 Chevrolet Corvette 327/300 convertible, and Lot 468, a 1968 Chevrolet Corvette 427/390 convertible that each crossed the block for $110,000; and Lot 464.1, a 1971 Datsun 240Z LS custom coupe for $88,000.

Today’s special guests at the auction included Texas Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick and IndyCar race car driver Santino Ferrucci. He stopped by to give Craig Jackson the helmet and gloves he wore when he drove the No. 23 DRR Palermo’s/BarrettJackson Chevrolet IndyCar during the 106th running of the Indianapolis 500.
