Frictional Forces on Flat Belts EXAMPLE PROBLEM // Step by step simple explanation

In this video I go through an example problem involving the concepts of frictional forces on flat belts. A rope is wrapped around a pole and we need to find out how much force it will take to start pulling up a weight attached to the other end of the rope. In order to do this we need to find the coefficient of static friction between the rope and the pole. Using the equations we have, we can find out what all of these variables are.
