Fresh eucalyptus is a great way to add beauty and aromatherapy to your shower experience and can even help sooth that wintertime congestion. There are a few safety notes to consider, however:

Eucalyptus and its oils should not be ingested. It can cause seizures.
People who having breathing trouble or other medical conditions may not be a good fit for using eucalyptus. Ask your doctor.
Be sure to keep eucalyptus and any fallen leaves out of reach of young children and pets (not recommended for a child's bathroom).
Discard the eucalyptus at the first sign of any mold or mildew on the leaves.

TIP: Try to hang the eucalyptus out of direct contact with water. This will help prevent mold growth and lengthen its life in your shower. Mine typically lasts 12 weeks in our most used shower and longer in our lesser used shower.
