Fostering Bald Eagle Chicks to the Pinnacle Rock nest via helicopter.

Video of a helicopter lift to foster two bald eagle chicks to the Pinnacle Rock nest on Catalina Island on 27 March 2002. The eggs removed were artificial eggs that had been placed in the nest after removing the pair's own fragile egg on 23 February, which was taken to the San Francisco Zoo for incubation. The chick did not hatch, so we fostered two chicks that were produced by captive eagles at the San Francisco Zoo. Male K65 (Quazar) was the adult that returned to the nest at the end of the video. He was collected from a nest on Vancouver Island, British Columbia in 1986 and released on Catalina Island.
