I recently purchased this 1962 Ford Galaxie 500 XL. It was last registered 6 years ago in 2018, although it sure looks to have sat for a lot longer. I figured it was just another forgotten 4 door, but opening the hood proved that someone put a lot of work in this thing. It has a big 390 FE engine with an Edelbrock aluminum intake, Holley 4 barrel, long tube headers, and from the sound of it, an aftermarket camshaft. It was even parked with new brake lines, a fresh gas tank, and who knows what else. But aside from all of time and money put into it, a lot of the work is questionable. It fired up and drove with some effort, the engine has good power, but the car still needs a lot more work and to be cleaned out thoroughly. I do plan to make another video on it but I'm also waiting on a title (It was parked due to a titling issue), until that comes, I don't want to sink too much time or money into it.
And an update after finishing the upload: This car wants to put up a fight. It bend the same pushrod again, and again (after running fresh gas through the tank), and the transmission seems to have an internal issue. It goes into park & drive at the same time, and reverse is somewhere inbetween one of the forward gears.
