In this video I build a foldaway mount or planer stand for my (73#) Ridgid benchtop planer. I originally mounted my rigid R4331 and later replaced it with a 90# DW735 planer. The design is original and my own but the inspiration for this build comes from the American Woodworker's Power Tool Friendly Bench article and video:    • Power Tool Friendly Bench  .
This mount design can be adapted to allow various power tools to fold and glide away under a bench and then rapidly setup for use. It consists of a drawer and fourbar linkage to raise and support the platform. This project is a continuation of the building/optimizing of my micro woodworking shop. I'm working to create a workshop on wheels that has similar capabilities to a fullsized shop in a small area.
