Wow! A long road trip out to the Clarion, a good 4hrs. from my neck of the woods, so an overnight stay was in order. A good thing too, my first trip out there around 3 years ago, didn't get me enough scouting information or results. So, two full days this time proved to be much better. Not much bug activity, but caddis were flying around enough, so I tried soft hackles, and letting them go through the swing and hang proved to be an effective technique to bring a good number of fish to the net. I will probably schedule a few more trips next year to give the Clarion a few more chances to show off it's big beautiful brownies. Hope you give it a chance too.
