If you are a Florida resident, you can get a $50,000 reduction on the taxable value of your primary residence! All you need to do is ask for it from your county tax appraiser! Easy peasy! You must live in the homesteaded residence on January 1 each year and THE DEADLINE TO APPLY IS MARCH 1, each year. However, even if you miss the deadline, you should still apply and it will be counted towards the following year! Do it!
