Cuenca is one of Spain's most gravitydefying regions. It sits across a steep spur of a mountain, whose slopes descend into deep gorges of the Júcar and Huécar rivers. Cuenca itself is the name given to the medieval town in the CastileLa Mancha region of Spain, built on the steep sides of the mountain. The region is sometimes called Spain's Grand Canyon and is a very popular climbing site in this part of the country. Knowing this I was tempted to do some drone flying in the region during the winter time, when there is relatively few climbers so as not to disturb them. There is a lot of evidence of human activity however it is still pleasantly natural in most of the canyon.
