Flipper Zero - Genie Encoder (Sub-GHz)

Follow
Derek Jamison

This is the third video about the Genie garage door and the Flipper Zero. In this video use the Genie Recorder v2 App and a custom genie.c protocol encoder so that we can open our Genie garage door without another Flipper being able to intercept and replay the message! Use your Flipper Zero while having the same security as the original remote.

My giveaways are typically hardware, but let me know if you want me to do .GNE files as a giveaway.

Warnings:
Connecting the Flipper to your remote could cause damage to your Flipper or the remote. It could also invalidate your remote warranty.
If you choose to use the keys.txt or .GNE file from my github instead of creating your own files from a remote, then there is a good chance someone else could trigger your receiver to open the door.
The process for clearing your Genie remote differs depending on the model, so be sure you understand the process for your model.

Lesson summary:
Official firmware doesn't allow "Send" for the rolling code, only unofficial allows for that feature.
The Genie Recorder application uses GPIO to press the button on your remote 65,536 times and extract all of the keys.
The Genie Recorder v2 stores each button/sn in a unique .GNE file, which is a binary file.
The protocol encoder/decoder uses the .GNE file to find the current and next code.
