This bowl has flared rim with a brick pattern. The designer of this bowl is Carole Rothman. I did not have on hand the same material that she used. She used spated sycamore for the main body and teak for the lines. I used poplar for the main body and a darker unknown wood for the lines. On the second cut I used the incorrect angle and had to remake the blank after scavenging material. There was about a week in between and did not have as good a blank as the original. That is not a gap or hole in the floor of the bowl but a spot I had to fill to get it level. It looked better after finishing. Not real happy with it but the shaping turned out pretty good. All in all a good learning experience.
