Step by Step!
Today we'll be working on an MTD lawnmower, and we'll be fixing an "Automatic Return Choke" on this Honda GCV190 engine.
My customer said that once the choke lever is engaged, it doesn't return to the run position automatically.
Honda's "Automatic Return Choke" is like a hybrid choke system. (It's not completely manual, but not completely automatic either).
It requires the operator to engage the choke lever manually, then it's supposed to disengage automatically when the blade control lever is engaged on the top handle.
I'll explain how the system should work, then show you how the system works on another Honda engine. We'll then disassemble the choke mechanism and attempt to fix it.
Replace this part using any of these Honda part numbers: 16610Z0L800 or 16613Z0L800 or 16610Z2D802
