"You shouldn't wash a barn find!" That's what a few people said last time we put a barn find Austin A30 under the Karcher. Thing is, we need to get this car running and were getting fed up of getting covered in barn dust every time we brushed past it.

To be honest, we'd hoped to do a 'first start' video at the same time, but a combination of other commitments and yet more storm damage to the workshop meant that this will have to wait.

In this video, Claire gets busy with the pressure washer. 31 BPC had been sitting, we think, since 1973. Although the barn in which this car came from was pretty dry, it was also very dusty.

With a combination of pressure washing and the good old 'bucket and sponge', the exterior got tackled first. And what a difference it made...

However, it was the interior that proved more challenging. The cobwebs had to go first, obviously, but then Claire had to spend many, many hours in a freezing cold workshop to get the inside of this Baby Austin to a decent condition.

Next stop, we'll have a go at getting this Austin A30 started and work on this one and our other, PPW 398, at the same time.
