We use the Winnerwell Nomad View L size stove, which is a primary combustion stove. When installing a wood stove in a tent, it is possible that the sparks from the chimney will puncture the fabric of the tent. While considering measures against sparks to protect the tent, in the first step, we surrounded the genuine spark arrestor with finer mesh to block sparks and soot as a W spark arrester. This time, as the second step, we added a secondary combustion function to the chimney to completely burn smoke and sparks, which are unburned gases that are emitted during incomplete combustion, and took measures to suppress the generation of sparks themselves.

[■ Problems]

① Problem 1
In the case of a primary combustion stove, smoke or unburned gas is generated when incomplete combustion occurs in the stove. Furthermore, due to the lack of oxygen due to incomplete combustion, sparks, soot, etc. pass through the chimney in a smoldering state. In this way, the unburned gas is wastefully released into the atmosphere, resulting in poor thermal efficiency.

② Problem 2
There is a spark arrestor as a spark block, but if the mesh is large, sparks and soot will easily pass through.

As mentioned above, the smoldering sparks and soot that have passed through the chimney and spark arrestor are exposed to the outside air and are released from the lack of oxygen state and reignite. This is what causes the tent to burn and puncture.

[Countermeasures]

① Countermeasure 1
I would like to set up a secondary combustion chamber in the main body of the primary combustion stove, but it is difficult to cut and paste sturdy stainless steel, so it would be quicker to buy a new secondary stove. This secondary combustion function was given to the chimney, which can be processed relatively easily. The smoldering sparks are rekindled and burned out, and the smoke, which is unburned gas, is rekindled for complete combustion, improved thermal efficiency, and increased calorific value.

② Countermeasure 2
The genuine spark arrestor is surrounded by a finer mesh to create a double spark arrestor. The secondary combustion chimney reduces sparks and soot, but is used as a brake.

As described above, the complete combustion reduces the sparks, soot, etc., to only ash, and the unburned smoke gas increases the combustion efficiency and increases the amount of heat, and it is also possible to raise the temperature inside the tent with the chimney.

　The principle is the same as a secondary combustion wood stove, and the air (oxygen) heated outside the chimney rises inside the paint can and is supplied through the air intake hole in the chimney for combustion.

By combining the genuine spark arrestor with a selfmade spark arrestor with a smaller wire mesh size, a genuine + selfmade double spark arrestor is produced. This blocks sparks and soot. Genuine wire mesh mesh 5.5mm, selfmade wire mesh mesh 3.06mm This prevents the passage of large sparks. In addition, the selfmade spark arrestor wire mesh area is 1.7 times the genuine wire mesh area, so the wire mesh can be prevented from being clogged with soot due to longterm combustion.
