We're making serious progress on the new boom section for our crane! We start by salvaging parts from the old boom before getting started on the brand new 6 meter RHS (Rectangular Hollow Section). But before installing the custombuilt boom end we crafted and built in Part 16, we meticulously weld in all the necessary components like pulley mounts and guide block plates. The new boom end itself goes in smoothly, and then it's time to lay down some serious welds. We weld the boom internally to the RHS and weld all the flat bar onto the main end plates. To finish things off, we tack weld flat bar to the top of the RHS, creating a barrier for the extension cable. This episode is packed with fabrication and welding, showcasing a fantastic upgrade for our Franna crane.
