Michael Jackson is often seen as the standout talent in the Jackson 5. However, before he took the mic stand his older brother Jermaine was the original lead singer for the group, and later acted as a complimentary vocalist on all the Jackson 5's early hits.

The brothers were pitted against each other by the press as they developed solo careers outside of the family group. A rivalry that only grew once Michael left Motown with the rest of his family.
