Fiesta is a young horse we intercepted from being sold at an auction and entering the slaughter pipeline in September of 2023. She was with a group of fiftysix other equines that were rescued on our very first Buyout mission. During her intake process, with the exception of a possible hernia, Fiesta was a healthy filly. (Later, our vets discovered that it was not a hernia, but a reaction to catgut sutures Watch Horse Shelter Heroes Season 5 Episode 6). It wasn't long before she completed her quarantine without any problems. On the day before Thanksgiving, however, Fiesta gave everyone a scare when she tried to jump a panel and injured herself.
