Over the years of being involved in grizzly bear management it has taken me all over Alberta, into BC, and most recently to the arctic, working with barren land grizzlies in the Yukon, NWT, and Nunavut. One of the most amazing things I got to see was the transition the female bears made over the season prior to denning, and in most cases preparing to have cubs shortly into the new year. In this video, is four females from different years, only a month from entering the den. They are huge, they ate themselves full to prepare for a long winter with new cubs, enjoy the video!
