A FIVEYEAROLD girl born with a rare craniofacial disorder is navigating the world with the help of her father, who was diagnosed with the same condition. Duane, aged 36, and his daughter Ariasha, aged five, have Treacher Collins Syndrome, which affects the development of facial bones and tissue. Duane has no ears or cheekbones and wears prosthetic ears. As a result of the condition, both Duane and Ariasha live with hearing loss and have worn hearing aids almost their entire lives. Ariasha's mother, Becky, now aims to bring hope to families facing a challenging diagnosis of a new baby by writing an educational children's book 'Asha's Little Ears', and by selling custom headbands that support boneanchored hearing aids.
