The Import From Underlay tool is not a wellknown tool in Sketch in Xactimate. This underutilized tool allows you to import a jpeg image of blueprints or architectural drawings directly into Xactimate. Once imported and scaled to size, the image can be used as a template to Sketch the floor plan and roof plan quickly and easily.

This works very well for commercial or large residential homes with large spaces. It's not all that useful for smaller residential homes that have a lot of small, cutup rooms that are hard to Sketch over in the tool. I recommend using Import from Underlay for the larger jobs such as retail spaces, hotels or large apartment complexes.
