The Blackstone portable pizza oven is underwhelming, much like it's more expensive version that I reviewed earlier this summer. Both Blackstone pizza oven designs have gas burners below the stone and that's the problem. After reviewing dozens and dozens of pizza ovens, it's becoming very easy to spot which ones will be a success and which ones wont. The good ovens have a large burner in the back of the oven which heats the stone and bakes the top of the pizza at the same time, whereas pizza ovens with only a burner under the stone tend to cook the bottoms too fast and undercook the tops.

Look, I'm still a customer for their flat top grills. But they need to rethink their pizza oven designs.

The only pro this product has is the duality of pizza oven and flattop (if you own that part).
