The series 'Farming with Barn Owls' celebrates the efforts of local farmers to conserve the Barn Owl, and the impact that the presence of Barn Owls has had on individual farming practices and has lead to a more engaged interest in the natural world. Nicky Murphy, a farmer in County Kilkenny installed a Barn Owl nest box on his farm, and since a pair of Barn Owls has taken up residence his nightly viewing has switched from the tv to the nocturnal comings and goings from the nest box. This series captures local perceptions towards the Barn Owl and shows why they are such important ambassadors for biodiversity as well as the role that farmers can play in their conservation and in delivering wider benefits for nature.
