Hey, guys so today are we discussing tire carriers for the new body style wrangler if you're gonna carry anything over a 33 you're gonna need one the reason being the tailgate on the new body style is actually made of magnesium it is significantly lighter duty than the previous body style on a jk the ones from 07 to 18 you get away with up to a 35 on the stock one even though it recommends 33. um on these you're really not going to want to go to a 35 without a tire carrier because what's gonna happen is over time it's gonna sag and it's gonna fail and eventually just fall off it's just not made to carry the extra weight so I have the two that we usually install here at the jeep dealership, the first being the actual factory one that is the Mopar hinge gate tire carrier and HD tire carrier is what they call it the second one is the one that we usually put on and this is a Spartacus carrier so they both operate the exact same way they reinforce that uh the Spartacus carries about 500 less installed though so when people ask us what we recommend that's usually the direction we go after the fact we haven't seen any difference in quality really between the two and it's the one that I would personally put on my jeep if I was looking at budget versus what I was getting out of it.
