Laughlin, Nevada, is a town in Clark County and has been a port for the area on the Colorado River. The town is located 90 miles south of Las Vegas and is the southern most town of Nevada. It sits at the border of Nevada and Arizona which is home to 11 major casinos and resorts along the banks of the Colorado River.

Founded in 1964 by Don Laughlin, who was the owner of the 101 Club in Las Vegas, visited the area and saw its tourism potential being next to the Colorado River and views of the Arizona hills. In the 1980's saw several constructions of hotels and casino. Today, Laughlin is the third most visited casino/resort destination in Nevada, after Las Vegas and Reno.

During summer, the Colorado River is filled with summer water activities such as river tours, kayaking, jet ski and watercraft rentals, scenic cruises, dinner cruises, and jet boat tours. Several restaurants, shops, and resort beaches sit along the riverwalk, as well as food/music festivals take place throughout the year. With the numerous resorts on the Colorado River, the Laughlin Riverwalk provides tourists with a way to hop between casinos with the views of the river. A river taxi runs along the river and stops at every resort, providing passengers access to either side of the river, whether on the Nevada side or the Arizona side.
