Raglan is a coastal town in the west coast, Waikato region of New Zealand’s North Island. It’s known for blacksand Ngarunui Beach, pancake rock formations as well as Bridal Veil Falls just a short drive away.

We chose an accommodation conveniently located between Hamilton and Raglan to stay at. Mike's Airbnb in Te Pahu was very spacious and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay along with the peacefulness of the rural countryside too.

First stop of the day was Bridal Veil Falls aka Waireinga. A dramatic plunging waterfall with multiple different view points to enjoy its beauty from varying perspectives.

For lunch we ate at a popular fish & chips shop called Raglan Fish. They also sell fresh and smoked fish as well as other seafood. Definitely a great spot right by the water too!

After our delicious lunch we made our way over to Raglan Kayak & Paddleboard on Bow Street Jetty to rent ourselves from kayaks. We kayaked over to Raglan's pancake rocks which are natural limestone rock formations that look like pancakes.

Raglan Kayak & Paddleboard gave us a quick refresher lesson on how to kayak and provided life jackets as well as dry bags for our use which was handy. They're usually open 9am–5pm daily but we strongly recommend calling them to check their opening times just in case they're still operating on reduced hours.

Last stop of the day was Ngarunui Beach. A picturesque black sand, surf beach in Raglan.
