Exclusive: Rare Ghost Monkeys Filmed in Colombia | National Geographic

Follow
National Geographic

"For several years former National Geographic grantee Andrés Link has followed two rare, allwhite spider monkeys that live in the fragmented tropical forests of the Magdalena River valley of Colombia. The remote habitat of these ""ghost monkeys"" makes this perhaps the first time they’ve been filmed. The allwhite characteristic of the normally brown monkeys could be related to a genetic bottleneck caused by habitat fragmentation and the loss of forests, converted to land for agriculture.
