Eureka Vacuum Brush Not Spinning or Picking Up Dirt Eureka Vacuum Belt Replacement Airspeed Zuum

Eureka Style U Vacuum Belt: https://amzn.to/3LnMYc9

My Eureka bag less vacuum seemed to stop picking up dirt. When I turn it on it actually sounds normal and there's still suction in the hose. But very quickly, I noticed that the beater brush wasn't spinning anymore which is definitely not typical. At this point I'm pretty sure the belt is broken and needs to be replaced. But I need to take a look inside to be sure.

For your reference, I'm working on a Eureka Airspeed Zuum model AS5203. First I'll need to undo 4 screws on top. This belt repair should be similar on many of the other Eureka vacuum models so follow along and you should be able to get yours fixed too! After the four screws are loosened lift up the cover starting from the back. Immediately I can see that the belt is indeed broken. This is really one of the most common vacuum repairs you can do yourself. The good thing is that I already have an extra replacement belt lying around. And I'll list this in the description in case you need to pick up a pack for your vacuum.

Now pull out and discard the old worn out belt. The belt runs from the motor pin to the beater brush in the front. And it's going to be very tight so I like to stretch the belt out a bit before trying to install it. I'll then lift out the main brush and slip the new belt over the motor pin and then insert the beater brush inside the loop. This next part is the most difficult because the belt is extremely tight. So I need to use the edge of the vacuum for leverage. Just make sure the belt is positioned over the black part of the roller and stretch until it slips into place. Now check the other side. If the roller isn't all the way in just rotate the end to get it seated.

At this point the belt replacement is done. Now reattach the top cover and secure the screws to finish up. Ok I hope you can see how easy it is to replace the belt on this Eureka vacuum. The whole thing will take you about 10 minutes to do. Now the last thing is to see if the beater brush spins when the vacuum is running. Ok! Looks like it's working great to me!
