Oh, hey everyone, Aiden here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the AirBedz air mattress in the backseat of our 2022 Ram 1500. Let's check it out. So this air mattress is designed to go in the backseat of your truck. The main piece is up top covering the seat and a little bit over that gap where our legs are. And that gap is actually supported by a piece underneath that's also inflated and locks in with some plastic tabs to keep everything secure and overall, fairly well supported.

I thought I would feel really stable on this side and feel like I was maybe sinking a bit on this side. It can definitely feel it. This side does have a bit more give to it, but it's nothing where I feel like I'm completely unsupported, and if I did roll over, that I would fall through. The whole thing can support up to 800 pounds so that's really great to know that it can fully support myself. And it does include a little blowup pillow.

I'm pretty picky with pillows, so I'd probably just bring my own if I knew I was gonna be sleeping in the back of my truck. But in a pinch, I think this will do just fine. It's pretty okay, and you can just inflate it by blowing into it in the back. And as for the actual air mattress, it does come with a pump that'll attach to a 12 volt DC port on our vehicle. And it has multiple fittings to fit the inflation valves on our air mattress as well.

This is gonna be the tan one, but you can also get it in blue. And the actual construction of it, it's gonna be a heavy duty cloth material. And as I kind of scratch at it here it does feel pretty durable, almost like a canvastype material, but not quite. So if you we're using this maybe for your dog on a long trip and you wanted them to have a nice place to lay down across the backseat, I think this would be just fine with their nails. I wouldn't be too worried about any punctures or damage to it.

Now, if I we're actually going to be using this to sleep in this maybe wouldn't be my first choice. I'm six feet tall and if I we're to lay back all the way to a comfortable spot with my head, this is kind of with my head touching the door. So if I scoot down to somewhere more comfortable that's where I'd be looking at. And obviously my feet are gonna be dangling out. If we have the door closed, I'm not gonna fit. So for me sleeping in this, I'd have to go on my side and bend my knees quite a bit. I'm a pretty jumpy sleeper, so for me, maybe not the best thing. I would look into a truck bed air mattress just because there's more room back there, typically. But if you don't have a camper shell, that might not be your best option, especially also if you've got a tonneau cover or just stuff in the bed that you're transporting. And when you're all done with the mattress, the top of the air pump does have a port where you can plug it in and deflate the air mattress too. The pump it comes with is super quick. So getting this all set up took no more than two minutes. Let's check out that process now. Starting out the install, you can pour everything out of the bag. I'm gonna sit the bag to the side, as well as our little pillow to the side for now. And we can get the actual air mattress unrolled. Just get it loosely set in place here and then we can get it inflated. With this being two separate pieces I'm gonna do the lower piece first, we can get that set in place. Kind of get this out of the way for right now. And then we can use our air hose with the included fittings. Find the proper one for this setup, plug it up like that. And that's where our fitting can attach for a nice good seal. So then all we gotta do is plug it into the pump, turn it on, and let it run until it inflates, with that button being on the front right here. Once it feels good, you can get that plugged up really quickly. Set it in place with these black tabs face up and then we can inflate the upper portion. With these black tabs, they're gonna line up with the ones on the lower bit, so I'm just gonna get them loosely set into place. We'll fully attach it later, but that'll just be my marker of where it should be attached. Because of where our DCL is positioned, I'm actually gonna just inflate it outside the vehicle and then we can put it in. And with everything fully inflated, those two tabs on the bottom of the upper piece and the top of the lower piece attached, you're good to go. Climb on in and you can enjoy a somewhat comfortable night's sleep in the back of your truck. And that was our look at the AirBedz air mattress in the back seat of our 2022 Ram 1500. Thanks for watching..
