Misty morning offers epic trout fishing for Antti and his friend Pasi on a small stream in Finland. In this episode of Another Hard Day At The Office Antti Guttorm and Pasi Visakivi will show you the Finnish approach for streamer fishing for brown trout.
Streamer fishing is the way to go in the end of May and beginning of June as several different bait fish enter the small and short rapids between lakes in Finland. The Finns approach these situations in a somewhat unique way and the style of streamer fishing has been developed during many generations. Especially upstream fishing in very hard rapids with a floating line and a streamer is a staple in Finnish fly fishing culture. And there are several fly patterns developed for this style of fishing but one pattern rises above everything else. That is a fly that can be found inside almost every Finnish trout anglers fly box. And that is the Supertinseli (Super Tinsel). It was originally developed as a imitation of a bleak. Bleak is one of the most important baitfish for the brown trout in Finnish streams. But with color variations Supertinseli can imitate several different baitfish. There will be fish caught with a Supertinseli in this episode as well. But other patterns offer action as well.
Even though the stream is small there are some BIG brown trout in it. Find out can the guys trick one of the lunkers to bite.
