Bird dog Cedar (an english setter) hit a barbed wire fence while quail hunting at Little "q" Ranch in Oxford, MS. His handler and another member of the hunting party were able to subdue him long enough to cleanse the wound with water an antibiotic cream then staple it shut using a dog first aid kit. Kudos to these owners for having the high degree of preparation and skill to ensure the health and safety of their trusted hunting companions. The dog was immediately kenneled and transported to a local vet who evaluated the field mending of the hunters and opted to take no further action, commenting that they did as good a job or better as he and his team could have. After a couple of weeks, the staples were removed and the dog made a full recovery! #englishsetter
