■ 터키는 한국전쟁 초기에 참전한 국가들 중 하나입니다.
부모를 잃고 전쟁터를 헤메는 아이들을 못본채 할 수 없었던 터키군인들은 고아들을 부대로 데려와 돌보기 시작합니다.
1952년 아이들이 점점 늘어나자 군인들은 월급을 5달러씩 모아 수원에 고아들을 위한 앙카라 학교(Ankara Okulu)를 세웁니다.
전쟁고아들을 사랑으로 감싸준 터키군인들의 따뜻한 마음, 그 마음을 기념하기 위해 2013년, 수원 권선구 서호초등학교 옆 앙카라 학교 터에 앙카라학교공원이 생겼습니다.

■ The Turkish Brigade participated in the Korean war, as one of the first nations of the major participants.
The soldiers saw so many children in Korea, who lost their home and parents that they could not turn away from the children and started to bring those orphans to the barracks to take care of them.
In 1952, the number of children in Turkish military camp had been getting increased, they donated $5 out of their salary, and founded 'Ankara School' in Suwon, Gyeonggido in South Korea.
Therefore, Ankara School Park was established in 2013 on the site of Ankara School in Gwonseongu, Suwon, to cherish the good old memory of Turkish soldiers who cared for the orphans with full of love.
