The Endless Knot is an ancient symbol that has held significance for many different cultures through history. In this video, one is being made from thin wooden strips.

It's easy to see why the knot was so often used as an adornment. The form has a quiet elegance about it. It's made of one continuous circuit, so it's pleasant to stare at with wonder. Given the perpetual cycles of life and change which surround us, the Endless Knot is at least as useful as a reminding metaphor as it is a wallhanging.

This video is long. Because of the pressures of time and the sake of clarity, many of the details of construction were omitted. To those of you who are truly interested: if you have any specific questions/concerns about the process, please feel free to ask. For as long as I'm still here, I will be responding to you. We have parallel interests, and so I appreciate you in a way that you should try to understand; you, the enthused, are the only reason I continue to post this content.

Note about symbolism and religiosity: nothing that the Endless Knot has been aligned with conceptually is being suggested here. Symbols are just that; they are voiceless visuals that contain no piece of information that we do not impose upon them. What a symbol 'means' is only what it will mean to the person who's beholding it. To me, this Knot is nothing more than a beautiful piece of geometry. Please do not assume otherwise. Further, regarding its chirality, neither should you assume that there is a 'right' way to build it in terms of the way it will look in a mirror, because your history—and thus, your meaning—is not mine. No offense is intended here, but if you use this symbol for something else, I owe you no apology. Neither of us can own it.
