Well guys it finally happened. This is the first pretty major mechanical issue I've experienced on track and of course it had to be in my daily driver. This definitely isn't random and it was 100% preventable however. My 2007 Fit has 215k miles on it as I drive it daily and much of the car is original due to the commuter nature of the vehicle and as such I should have been much more cautious when it comes to maintenance prior to starting to track the car. I've been experiencing what I thought was brake fade throughout the season and attributed it to poor brake cooling but in reality I think I was experiencing pad knock back from a loose whee bearing so I'm sure you can guess what happened. Fortunately all is well and I'm just glad it didn't happen at high speed or somewhere far from home. Moral of the story is if you track a high mileage car to be very cautious when it comes to suspension components. Aside from that this track season was even better than last year and I am very grateful for all the support from each and every one of you. Can't wait to see what's in store for next year but until then I'm gonna take some time to check over all the cars. Stay tuned for that.
