After being introduced to Attenborough’s endangered Galapagos, Lonesome George, we meet the endangered Ploughshare Tortoises in the national park in Anpara Fans where we meet Richard Lewis and colleagues who have now bred 700 babies. We also follow the journey of endangered Elongated Tortoises, originally from Southeast Asia and India who produce a small collection of eggs. Watch here to find out whether they hatch!

From David Attenboroughs Galapagos Season 1 Episode 1 “Origin”, as he introduces the almost extinct Galapagos Tortoises and Fota: Into the Wild Season 1 Episode 4: A series following Fota’s animal rangers as they witness the hatching of baby tortoises, both Ploughshare and Elongated Tortoises many of whom are endangered.
