Today's job has brought us out in the middle of the Texas hillcountry, where parts stores and supply houses don't exist, and evidently...neither do electricians.

This job was an emergency (according to the customer) that brought me about 2 hours from my house. I was ok with it because the customer was willing to pay my emergency rate to do it. This really was not an emergency service call, it was just an urgent matter that the customer wanted taken care of so he could sell his ranch.

So I had to go out and figure out what to do about a missing deadfront on this electrical service panel in the middle of nowhere. There were no supply houses, parts stores, or home depot's anywhere around. The closest supply houses were 45 min in any direction. But it had to get done that day.

So after digging around and searching part numbers I found that I had no choice but to swap the panel out for a new one. This required pulling the electrical meter myself (after gaining permission from the utility company to do so)

Once I got the new parts I removed the old panel, put the new feedthrough panel in, hooked everything back up, and cleaned up. The actual work took me only around 30 minutes to do, but it took several hours of driving around and trying to find materials. Good little highmargin job...I have no complaints =)
