Hello OUTSIDE Viewers!

In this episode, we discuss some of the general locations for finding Ellensburg Blues, as well as some tips the pros use to help identify an Ellensburg Blue.

A couple of things we forgot to mention in the video:

Red Top shares the Teanaway Basalt with the other agate areas, and with rhyolite showing on the blue agates we found there, it’s logical to believe the blue agates formed from the same material.

And REMEMBER: Most agates from the Red Top area never make it to blue, especially without their matrix. The actual blues from that area are not easy to find. NOT ALL agates from Red Top are blue, just the same as not all agates from First Creek are blue.

And yes, we know the town was named after Mary Ellen Shoudy! : )
