Easy Double Fleece Hat and Scarf

In this tutorial, I teach you how to make a fleece hat and scarf with a professional finished look. You can either make the hat with a single layer of fleece as I show in the video or you can make the hat with a double layer of fleece, also shown in the video.

As stated in the tutorial, it is best to measure the head of the person you are making the hat for in order for it to fit properly. The measurements I am giving are generic measurements and may require alteration on your part if it doesn't fit properly.

For the baby hat I purchase 1/2 yard of fleece fabric. For the toddler hat and scarf, I purchased 1 yard of fabric. Lastly, for the adult hat and scarf, I purchased 2 yards of fleece fabric. I had left over of each fleece fabric print. It is always best to have more on hand than to run out of fabric.

Measurements for the hat and scarf are as follows:

Infant Hat: 11" X 13"
Toddler Hat: 13" X 16"
Adult Women's Hat: 22" X 35"

Toddler Scarf: 10" Wide by however long you want your scarf. I recommend measuring the toddler first.

Adult Women's Scarf: 10" X 36"

Cutting Instructions:
Infant Hat:
2 5.5" X 13"
Toddler Hat:
2 6.5" X 16"
Women's Hat:
11" X 35"

Scarfs should be cut on the fold. In which you would only need one piece. If you are not cutting on the fold, then you would need 2 pieces cut at 10" X 36" for an adult women's scarf and then you would sew down the 2 long sides of your fabric. If you cut on the fold, then you only have the one open long side that needs to be sewn down as demonstrated in the tutorial.
