Happy World Wildlife Day! Elephants are incredibly empathetic, intelligent and vital to ecosystems, as well as contributing to towards tourism and community incomes in many less developed countries. It is estimated that 55 elephants are killed every day, their populations have declined massively due to poaching and habitat loss. It is critical to conserve both African and Asian elephants since they play such a vital role in their ecosystems as keystone species.
