The history of Wales is filled with many kings and kingdoms, but the kingdom of Dyfed, formed from lands in Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire, had a very unique trait. This Welsh kingdom possessed an Irish dynasty, an attribute only found twice throughout Welsh history.
In this video I will be examining the history of this Irish kingdom in Wales indepth, from the Celtic tribes that inhabited Wales to the Roman invasion, from the colonisation of this Irish dynasty to the incursions of the Vikings and the AngloSaxons, and we will see how such a unique piece of Welsh history came about, and how the history of Wales was forever changed by its actions.
