Heavy rain lashed several parts of the United Arab Emirates on Tuesday, dumping over a year and a half’s worth of rain on the desert citystate of Dubai in hours and flooding portions of major highways and its international airport.

The heavy downpour that caused widespread flooding in Dubai and other parts of the UAE stemmed partly from cloud seeding, experts said.
