Drill free ladder mounting solutions for your bass boat: A how-to

Follow
Extreme Boating

Welcome back as always!

Many states are starting to require by law that boarding ladders be mounted on boats. This spells issues for those who either A. don't have the space on their transom to do so, B. still have a warranty in place, and/ or C. don't want to introduce the possibility of water intrusion due to extra holes being present now that a ladder is being forcefully required to be in place.

This is where this video comes in to help you.

Today, I review with you 100% drill free eladder boarding solutions that do not take up any additional space on your transom and do not require you to make all new holes which can become another source of water intrusion. I will also be showing you how insanely simple it is to mount one of these on your rig. Any bass boat can run these as long as their engines utilize a standard BIA bolt hole engine mounting bracket. All modern Mercury, Yamaha, Evinrude, Honda, etc. outboards utilize this bolt pattern as long as the engine is 4050 HP and up. What this means for you is that you can have your cake and eat it too which is great news for anyone who has the issues which have been highlighted above.

While these solutions have been out for some time now, they are not discussed much and are not super well known about. Hopefully this video changes that. Links will be provided below if you are interested in obtaining any one of these eladders.

JIF Marine EOM emergency reboarding ladder (my favorite of the bunch and the most financially effective):

TH Marine Twist Step (same exact product as the JIF Marine EOM, but sold to you at a marginally higher price than the JIF): https://thmarinesupplies.com/products...

R&R design emergency exit ladders for boats (this particular ladder utilizes only one bolt off the outboard making it less desirable than the ones posted above in my opinion, and can be obtained through third party websites like ebay or by calling R&R designs direct):

Bob's Machine "Bob's boarding ladder (comes in several different optional brackets for engines with or without jackplate and can be mounted on either Port or Starboard side. Base price makes the ladder deceiving from a financial standpoint, as adding brackets makes pricing go up, which you would need in order to run it using your outboard bolts):
