In this video i remove the drawbar on a Stewart trailer as the sprung drawbar pivot and pin is worn, the ring is also worn so its an ideal time to change that while its off.
The main bolts that go through the springs are tightened up thread bound and are usually a pain to get undone, a little heat from the gas torch helps that problem. The hose loops are cut off to save unthreading all the pipes and the collar on the pivot pin is removed, this was seized on so bearing pullers and some more heat was used to remove that.
The trailer is jacked up to take the weight off the drawbar, the pin is knocked out and the drawbar is then removed.
The old ring is gouged off with arc air rods and cleaned up with the grinder. With the new ring tacked into position and with a preheat, it is then welded around with 3 runs.
