12.13.18 | By Adam | SUNNYSIDE, Queens Around 200 firefighters responded to an explosive 5alarm fire that started at 2 am, Thursday, December 13th, 2018 on 4502 45th Street. 12 people were hurt including 7 firefighters, all treated for minor injuries with only one being serious. What appeared to be a building explosion was actually a roof collapse which caused a backdraft or smoke explosion, FDNY stated. 6 businesses were destroyed. Cause of the fire under investigation.
