Hey all, it’s Jenny from Killer Ink and today we’re checking out the tattoo machine that most truly exemplifies the term “penstyle” – the Dragonhawk Mast Pen.

Made from lightweight aluminium with a powdered matte coating, this is no ordinary cylindrical rotary machine but one that truly feels like tattooing with a pen.

So, let’s take a closer look!

The Dragonhawk Mast Pen is made from aerospacegrade aluminium, and driven by a powerful 9 Volt Japanese motor, with an advanced gear system to create quiet, precise and vibrationfree action. Simply attach the included DC power cable and you’ll be ready to tattoo with a working voltage of 6 to 9 Volts.

This rotary machine has a fixed 3.5 mm stroke length, which is ideal for the vast majority of tattoo artists, but particularly for colour packing, which is where the Mast Pen shines. Plus, you can adjust your needle depth with a turn of the grip.

And we weren’t kidding about it feeling like a pen – at just 117 mm long and weighing only 120 g with convenient finger grooves, working with the Mast Pen is incredibly comfortable. If you do find it a bit small, it’s easy enough to pad out with grip wrap for larger hands.

The Mast Pen is easily wrapped with clip cord covers, barrier film or barrier sleeves – just make sure to cover your cable as well!

In the packet with your Dragonhawk Mast Pen you’ll also receive: a spare trough wheel, springs, Orings, and a tiny allen key to help you maintain your machine.

The aptlynamed Dragonhawk Mast Pen is compatible with universal, Cheyenne type cartridges and can be used with your choice of power supply.
