DragBoss Garage/Advanced Product Design: Carburetor Tuning Series: Float Adjustment

Follow
DragBoss Garage

This video explains the procedure of adjusting the float level on Advanced Product Design (APD) carburetors. APD uses their own floats for their carbs, so with their adjustment, they like to see 0.750 distance from the parting line of the float, to the floor of the float bowl. John Kyle, does mention that floats with a higher parting line will require larger distance, .ie Holley floats have a higher parting line, so those are adjusted to be 0.850. So make sure you know what float your carb has, and adjust accordingly.
With that said, many guys, including myself, adjust the float level with the site plug, or glass. John said that this may be good for changes or adjustment at the track, you get most accurate results with measuring with vernier caliper. Stay tuned for more carb tuning with APD.
