In this video, Jordan explains how they utilized a dual path overflow for the biggest pond he has ever worked on. Using a high and low overflow strategy, the dam is able to maintain the proper height and drainage during normal operational parameters. However, when a large rain event happens, the second higher overflow will start to drain water out of the pond, keeping the draining water's depth and velocity low to prevent erosion of the dam causing expensive or catastrophic failures.
