After an epic night watching the sunset from the top of Cadillac Mountain (you can see that video here if you missed it:    • QUICK RANT ABOUT OUR NATIONAL PARKS |...   ), we were up the next morning in order to walk across the land bridge to Bar Island that is only accessible at low tide!

Corey couldn't find the cruise ship that we saw on the way into town, and it becomes the day’s goal to find it! After a quick stop checking out Bar Harbor’s quaint downtown, we headed to the Sand Beach parking lot where we had been just 12 hours earlier capturing Milky Way shots with Corey’s new lens! The Sand Beach parking lot is the perfect place to start Beehive Trail, our first offical hike of the season! And, man, did we start off with a bang! This hike has everything! At just about 2 miles, with fun obstacles, built in iron ladders, and one of the coolest views from the top, it is going to be hard to find another hike to top this one this summer! The girls both put it in their top 5 favorite hikes we have ever done!

We make a quick stop on our way home to mail the cards we made for our seRV Monthly Challenge for the nonprofit, Cards for Hospitalized Kids! This is such an amazing way to give back especially on a rainly day! Thank you to Thousand Trails Encore Mt Desert Narrows Campground and staff for hosting us for this seRV event! Corey finally finds his cruise ship, and we enjoy hotdogs and s’mores over the fire with friends at our campground while the sun sets over the water!
