Specialists affirm that this breed was created in Wales and was finally in 1884 when was officially introduced in England. Gaining popularity, the Welsh Terrier was brought to the United States by Prescott Lawrence in 1888, becoming then in a domestic dog and an excellent pet.

The Welsh Terrier dog is strong, robust and muscular, of medium size that weighs approximately 20 to 22 pounds, and it grows about 15.5 inches tall. It has a straight and strong back, that with its powerful legs make this dog a surprisingly agile and fast animal. In addition, this breed is characterized not only by having a hard, black and thick fur but also by the graceful beard that gives them an elegant and distinguished look.

Grooming: With a particular look, its characteristic mustache and thick fur, the Welsh Terrier needs a good weekly brushing to keep it always clean. Also, cleaning the hair, nail, ear and tooth every month would be just enough to have a healthy dog.
